PUMP (Pittsburgh Urban Magnet Project) is a membership organization that gives young people a platform for community discourse on important issues, and plays an active role in their lives.
Lernatovych has had a significant impact on the Pittsburgh area. A native of Lviv, Ukraine, she recently spearheaded local efforts to assist Ukrainian families and the military during the war. She personally collected more than $18,000 in donations for Ukrainian families, children and military units, and started a collection drive for the Ukrainian military that resulted in donations of body armor from area law enforcement agencies, including bulletproof plates, helmets, SWAT jackets, Level III body armor jackets, bomb suits, gas masks and K9 protection dog vests.
She frequently joins her mother in creating and producing a weekly Ukrainian radio program that airs on a local Pittsburgh AM station.
Her other civic activities include pro bono work for the Adoption Legal Services Project, which provides free legal assistance for uncontested termination and adoption cases for foster children and adoptive families in Allegheny County. Lernatovych is also a member of Manifesto’s Mission, a nonprofit dedicated to caring for homeless animals.
Lernatovych manages a thriving legal practice, advising companies on international M&A, divestitures, private equity transactions and other corporate matters.
She is actively involved in firm efforts to recruit women to the firm’s corporate practice, and is a member of the summer subcommittee of the Reed Smith’s recruiting committee. She is a member of the firm’s senior associate leadership class, and mentors law students, junior associates and summer associates. For the past five years, she has served as the Pittsburgh office liaison for the Women’s Initiative Network of Reed Smith (WINRS), and recently completed the WINRS nine-month Mastermind leadership development program.
Lernatovych is committed to diversity and inclusion efforts at the firm and assisted in planning and participating in Reed Smith’s Forum on Diversity, an event bringing first-year students together with lawyers to explore career opportunities for new attorneys in Pittsburgh.
She is a graduate of the yearlong Leadership Development Initiative Class XXV, a Leadership Pittsburgh Inc. program designed to cement rising Pittsburgh leaders’ engagement with the community. In 2017, Lernatovych was selected by Pittsburgh Business Times for its list of 30 Under 30 winners.
