Jennifer Magalhaes Cuddy, a partner in Reed Smith’s Tysons office, has been selected as a 2023 Influential Women of Law by Virginia Lawyers Weekly. Honorees will be recognized at an awards ceremony on May 23 at the John Marshall Ballrooms in Richmond.

The annual awards program recognizes women attorneys and judges for professional excellence and their work on behalf of the justice system and their clients, service to the legal profession, and commitment to their communities.

A member of the Reed Smith Real Estate practice group, Cuddy advises a number of the region’s active and significant real estate developers and owners, as well as industrial and office tenants. She handles a wide range of issues, including acquisitions and dispositions, financing and refinancing matters, lease negotiations and agreements, and contract matters.

Cuddy is known for her integrity in advising clients, who view her as their outside “inside” counsel.

Committed to diversity efforts, she serves as one of the Tyson’s office representatives for the Reed Smith diversity, equity and inclusion initiative. She is dedicated to the advancement of women and diverse attorneys and enjoys mentoring associates.

In addition to her busy practice, Cuddy remains involved in pro bono legal efforts and volunteer activities. She serves as a member of the board of the Northern Virginia Transportation Alliance and is a member of the Virginia Portuguese Community Center in Manassas.

Her previous awards and honors include Virginia Business magazine’s Legal Elite in the Young Lawyer category in 2020, and selection to the Washington, D.C., and Virginia Super Lawyers Rising Stars lists for real estate in 2018 and 2019.
