David is counsel in the Pittsburgh office who represents clients in complex domestic and international disputes. He focuses his practice on representing policyholders seeking insurance recovery in connection with claims under Bermuda Form, CGL (commercial general liability), commercial property, crime, D&O (directors and officers), and other business policies. David also counsels clients on policy language and coverage needs.
In addition to his work on behalf of policyholders, David has represented clients in a number of commercial contexts, including with respect to RMBS (residential mortgage-backed securities), product liability, design defects, cyber security, and data breaches to name a few. He has represented professional sports franchises in salary arbitrations and analyzed autonomous vehicle and artificial intelligence developments and legislation. David has committed significant time to pro bono matters, particularly in the immigration and civil rights arenas.
Prior to law school, David spent five years as a management consultant helping state, local, and federal government clients across the country prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters. He was a Coro Fellow in Public Affairs, a Presidential Fellow at the Center for the Study of the Presidency and Congress, and a Jeannette K. Watson Fellow.
David currently serves on the executive board for Open Field, a non-profit whose mission is to improve the lives and futures of youth through soccer.
