Joe is a partner and trial lawyer in Reed Smith’s Philadelphia office whose national practice is focused on complex litigation and regulatory matters for clients in the health care and financial services sectors. He currently serves as managing partner of Reed Smith’s Philadelphia office.

Joe has tried cases in both state and federal court, including serving as trial counsel in In re Prescription Opiate Litigation (N.D. Ohio), for one of the major wholesale pharmaceutical distributors. He has also served as trial counsel for a large financial institution where he, along with a colleague, obtained a full defense verdict following a multi-week jury trial. In addition to trying cases, Joe has appeared in state and federal courts on behalf of health care and financial services clients in both obtaining and defending against temporary restraining orders and preliminary injunctions. Through these matters, he has developed extensive experience in managing nationwide class actions and multi-jurisdictional litigation, including the development and implementation of litigation strategy, oversight of extensive e-discovery, and coordination with plaintiff and defense steering committees.
