According to The College, election as a Fellow is the highest recognition honoring sustained outstanding performance in the profession, exemplifying integrity, dedication and excellence.
At the same time that Casey holds a significant role as one of seven members of the Reed Smith’s senior management team, she has maintained an active practice. She represents employers in employment-related disputes, including harassment, retaliation, discrimination, wrongful discharge, equal pay and breach of contract litigation, including successfully litigating matters in federal and state courts throughout the U.S. and routinely appearing before both federal and state agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Ryan also has successfully defended employers in employment class actions and in litigation brought by the EEOC.

A 1996 graduate of the University of Notre Dame Law School, Ryan received her undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame in 1993. She joined Reed Smith in 1996, and is resident in the firm’s Pittsburgh office. Ryan is listed in The Best Lawyers in America, Chambers USA and Pennsylvania Super Lawyers.
Ryan and other newly elected Fellows will be installed November 10 in San Francisco during the American Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Law Section’s Legal Education Conference. With installation of this year’s Fellows, the College will be represented by more than 1,400 members in 48 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and eight Canadian Provinces.
The College was the vision of a number of its Fellows. It was founded in 1955 as an initiative of the Council of The Section of Labor and Employment Law of the American Bar Association to further establish the profession in all its aspects as uniquely important to the world of labor and employment law, individuals rights, collective bargaining and dispute resolution. The College operates as a free-standing organization, recognizing those who, by long and outstanding service have distinguished themselves as leaders in the field.
