LONDON - UK Social Mobility Awards - the UK’s only awards dedicated to recognising the achievements of individuals and companies in promoting social mobility - celebrated its second year with a gala at the London Marriott Grosvenor Square.

During the ceremony, Jonathan Andrews, a trainee solicitor who sits on the board of Reed Smith’s LGBT network PRISM and its disability network LEADRS, was named as winner in the ‘Rising Star’ category, an accolade which recognises those in the early stages of their career who have already made a significant contribution to advancing the cause of social mobility.

Tunde Banjoko OBE, Founder of The UK Social Mobility Awards, said: “Millions of young people never get a chance to succeed simply because of the family they are brought up in or the school they went to, and the businesses and organisations involved in this initiative want to change that.

“I’d like to congratulate Jonathan Andrews for winning the ‘Rising Star’ category, he is doing outstanding work in this area and I am pleased that this was recognised by the judges.”
