WASHINGTON, D.C. — Global law firm Reed Smith announces that Julia Solomon Ensor has joined the firm’s advertising practice as counsel in its Washington, D.C., office. Julia brings 15 years of experience from the Federal Trade Commission, where she held senior roles developing policy and leading enforcement actions in advertising, marketing and labeling.

During her time at the FTC, Julia led numerous enforcement actions and was recognized with the FTC’s Paul Rand Dixon Award for her leadership and impact as head of the agency’s Made in USA program. Julia also contributed significantly to the agency’s environmental marketing work, including updates to the Green Guides and policy development around sustainability and recycling claims.

At Reed Smith, Julia will advise clients on advertising substantiation, country-of-origin and environmental claims, labeling compliance, deceptive practices and regulatory investigations. Her experience gives clients a valuable perspective on how regulators evaluate claims and assess risk, helping companies stay ahead of enforcement trends while meeting business objectives.

Julia is also a frequent speaker and writer on advertising and consumer protection issues. In addition to her enforcement work, she led the FTC Bureau of Consumer Protection’s business education program, helping to translate complex legal standards into clear guidance for the business community.
