Lost among the flurry of bills passed in the finals days of the New York Legislature’s recent session was the adoption of a bill bolstering several of the Empire State’s wage and hour laws. Passed by both the New York Assembly and Senate on June 19, 2014, Bill A08106C/S05885-B is intended to revitalize the Wage Theft Prevention Act and other provisions of New York labor law. Although the bill may have slipped under the radar, its implications are anything but trivial.
