Doug speaks about his mother and her career as a nurse in Pearl Harbor during WWII. Unfortunately, in 1970 Doug’s mother faced a tragic accident that changed her life. Most people would have just given up, but his mother became an inspiring leader and counselor to others facing seemingly overwhelming challenges. She stressed the important lesson to everyone that they should never give up and to remember “No matter who you are, it’s all about believing in yourself.” Doug has transmitted her inspiration into his own career as a lawyer. He has continued to embrace this progressive attitude with his work with the Association of National Advertisers’ #SeeHer movement to end gender stereotyping and to promote the accurate portrayal of women and young girls in advertising, television and film.
