Mike supports clients with multi-jurisdictional and multi-party disputes under charterparties, bills of lading and sale contracts, as well as related security and enforcement issues.
He advises on shipping related environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues, as well as drafting and dealing with disputes under a wide range of commercial contracts, including shipbuilding, sale of goods and construction contracts.
He has a particular experience with assisting clients in the LNG sector and in the Japanese market, having lived and worked in Japan.
Mike aims to achieve the commercial and amicable resolution of matters, but where this is not possible, he guides clients through litigation and arbitration (under the rules of, among others, the LMAA, ICC, LCIA and GAFTA).
Mike approaches cases with enthusiasm and his style is calm and analytical. Away from the office, he enjoys skiing and sailing, and can speak some Japanese.
