A member of the firm’s Global Corporate Group, Ian’s practice focuses on executive compensation and employee benefits matters in connection with mergers and acquisitions and other transactions, primarily with respect to private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies. Ian also advises clients on the design, implementation and disclosure of, and taxation relating to, equity and cash-based incentive compensation, deferred compensation programs, retention and transaction-based bonus programs and the negotiation of executive employment, change in control and separation agreements. Ian has expertise in the taxation rules governing executive compensation, including, Code Sections 83, 280G, and 409A.
