Amalia Sax-Bolder

Amalia represents a broad range of constituents—including debtors, secured lenders, purchasers, equity holders, and strategic investors—in Chapter 11 bankruptcies, receiverships, foreclosures, and out-of-court restructurings. She counsels clients across all stages of financial distress, from early strategic planning and fiduciary guidance for boards and management teams through in- and out-of-court proceedings.

An experienced litigator, Amalia regularly handles adversary proceedings, arbitrations, and contested matters, with particular experience in relief from stay and fraud-related disputes, including fraudulent transfer and asset recovery actions. She also represents clients on appeal, briefing and arguing complex issues arising out of bankruptcy and commercial litigation matters. She is known for combining sharp litigation instincts with practical, business-focused advice in high-stakes situations.

In addition to her restructuring practice, Amalia advises clients on bankruptcy risk in mergers and acquisitions, real estate, and structured finance transactions. She brings a distinctive perspective at the intersection of bankruptcy and intellectual property, allowing her to navigate complex issues involving intangible assets and distressed businesses. Amalia serves on the Global Board of the Turnaround Management Association and is President-Elect of its Rocky Mountain chapter. She has been recognized by Chambers USA and named to the American Bankruptcy Institute’s 40 Under 40 and is a recipient of the Colorado LGBTQ+ Bar Association’s Attorney of the Year award.
