Avocats associés à cet article: Lisa A. Chiarini Richard J. Tannenbaum Douglas J. Wood

February 16, 2016 – Reed Smith LLP today announced the addition of Lisa Chiarini as a partner in the firm’s Intellectual Property, Information & Innovation (IPII) Group in New York. Chiarini was most recently a partner at Fish & Richardson. The addition of Chiarini follows closely on that of Rich Tannenbaum, who joined the firm recently from GE Capital. New York remains one of Reed Smith’s fastest-growing offices, adding 38 lawyers over the past year.

“Along with our nationally recognized IP practice, we have a leading life science and health industry practice with many Big Pharma clients, so Lisa’s experience with litigating disputes in district court, the International Trade Commission, and ICC arbitration tribunals in this industry will be of enormous benefit to our clients,” said James Hultquist, co-practice group leader for Reed Smith's IPII Group. “Our IP practice is busy and growing, and we will continue to add leading talent so that we can better serve our clients’ IP needs.”

Chiarini focuses her practice on IP litigation and product development counseling services in the pharmaceutical, chemical, and medical device industries. She has handled IP disputes at the International Trade Commission (ITC), in federal district court, and before the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) International Court of Arbitration. Significant matters she has handled include representing a branded pharmaceutical company in one of the first actions at the ITC seeking an order to exclude generic entry of an active ingredient allegedly made by an infringing process, and being a member of the trial team in the first-ever patent litigation involving nanomedicine in the U.S. District Court of Delaware. Aside from patent litigation, Chiarini’s practice includes patent prosecution and counseling in the life sciences and health industry.

She received her J.D., cum laude, from Brooklyn Law School; her M.S., with honors, from Hofstra University; and her B.S. from St. Joseph’s College.

“Lisa is the second partner to join us in New York in the last month,” said Douglas Wood, office managing partner of Reed Smith’s New York office. “We are focused on building a robust office here in New York that offers clients a comprehensive resource for their legal needs. Lisa is a great addition to our team here.”
