CHICAGO – Reed Smith LLP today announced the addition of Steven D. Hamilton as a partner on the Managed Care team in the firm’s Global Commercial Disputes Group. Based in Chicago, Hamilton is an accomplished trial lawyer who principally represents healthcare clients, including health insurers and other healthcare entities, in all aspects of litigation, including provider disputes, class actions, and False Claims Act matters. He also provides regulatory and compliance advice to Medicare Advantage, Medicaid managed care, and other government-sponsored health plans.

Hamilton has extensive background in complex commercial and products liability litigation. He has managed and directly handled all aspects of cases, including first- and second-chairing multiple trials and arbitration hearings, as well as appellate briefs and arguments. He serves as Vice Chair of the Healthcare Liability and Litigation Practice Group of the American Health Lawyers Association and is a member of the Chicago Bar Association. He was a partner at McGuireWoods LLP in Chicago for more than a dozen years and before that was an associate at Drinker Biddle & Reath. He is a 2006 graduate of DePaul University College of Law.
