Mariah represents employers in a wide variety of employment-related disputes, including litigation involving claims of harassment, retaliation, discrimination, wrongful discharge, and breach of contract. Mariah has successfully litigated in federal and state courts across the country, and routinely appears before administrative agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and various state human relations commissions.
Mariah routinely conducts internal investigations into matters including fraud, embezzlement, theft, discrimination and harassment. She also trains human resource professionals on conducting and documenting internal investigations.
In addition to Mariah’s litigation practice, she advises clients on proactive litigation-avoidance strategies, including counseling clients on the latest developments with federal and state employment laws, reductions in force, employee accommodations, and employee discipline.
Mariah maintains an active higher education practice, in which she provides advice and counsel on a full range of legal issues facing colleges and universities, including compliance with Title IX, the Americans with Disabilities Act, FERPA, and the Clery Act.
Mariah was a summer associate with the firm in 2013. Throughout law school, she worked as an intern for the Honorable Maureen P. Kelly of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.
