Reed Smith has been recognized for excellence in 49 practice areas – eight of them new – in the 2022 IFLR1000 global rankings, the publication announced.

Reed Smith repeated Tier 1 listings for three practice categories; namely, New Jersey M&A; Pennsylvania M&A; and Pennsylvania restructuring and insolvency.

The eight practice categories in which the firm ranked for the first time were: France Banking; France M&A; France Private equity; France Project development; New York Capital markets; United States Capital markets: Equity; United States Capital markets: Structured finance and securitization; and United States M&A.

In addition to its expansion in France and the United States, the firm’s strength grew in the UK. Two of three areas that rose in rank were in the UK: United Kingdom Bank lending: Lender side, and United Kingdom Financial services regulatory: Non-contentious. The firm’s rank for United States Restructuring and insolvency also rose.

Twenty-seven individual lawyers in eight jurisdictions achieved ‘Highly Regarded’ status in 36 practice areas; of which eight were listed in more than one area. Two other Reed Smith lawyers were named Rising Stars, a designation for high-performing younger lawyers. Here is the full list of ‘Highly Regarded’ and ‘Rising Star’ individuals.
