Alice is a partner in Reed Smith’s Transportation Industry Group, based in the firm’s New York office, with a wide-ranging practice in the maritime sector.
Alice is highly experienced in shipping finance and U.S. Jones Act matters – her primary focus areas. She advises on the financing of vessels through both traditional and alternative finance solutions, as well as the structuring of vessel ownership, M&A transactions involving shipping companies, and the construction, sales and leasing of vessels, in both U.S. domestic and international markets. Alice also helps clients navigate the requirements of the U.S. Jones Act and the regulations of the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG), the Maritime Administration (MarAd), Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and the Federal Maritime Commission (FMC).
Additionally, Alice is a maritime litigator by background and continues to represent clients in charter party and other maritime disputes, as well as maritime attachment, arrest and repossession cases, including mortgage foreclosures.
Alice has received several accolades in recognition of her leadership and excellence in her field. In 2025, she was ranked in Chambers USA for Nationwide Transportation: Shipping/Maritime: Finance, and she was listed as a Next Generation Partner in The Legal 500 USA for Shipping Finance. Alice was also named the 2025 “North America Shipping/Maritime Lawyer of the Year” at the Women in Business Law Americas Awards presented by the Legal Benchmarking Group.
