As a specialist in M&A, leveraged buyouts and private equity transactions, Guilain’s Paris practice is crucial to support global clients building their strategic portfolios in France and across Europe.
Guilain advises sovereign-wealth funds, private equity funds, industrial clients and managers in private and public M&A and restructuring.
As a dual qualified lawyer in France and New York, Guilain is highly regarded for his in-depth knowledge of complex multi-jurisdictional work. Practicing in a broad range of sectors involving real estate, leisure, medical and retail, Guilain believes that both client trust and commercial thinking are key to successful transactions. He likes to stay close to the deal throughout the process and insists that clients keep his phone number on speed dial.
It’s in this way that he builds his long-term relationships and business goals for his clients who value his advice, vision and steely determination to get the deal done successfully – and often ahead of schedule.
Guilain is a graduate of leading French business school HEC, where he majored in Legal and Tax studies, and of the University of Paris I Sorbonne where he obtained a Postgraduate Degree (DESS) in Business Law and International Taxation in 2003. Guilain obtained a LL.M. from Stanford Law School in 2009.
