As a computer engineer, Gerard uses his understanding of technology to provide clients with creative patent litigation and prosecution strategies. Gerard represents clients in patent litigation, patent validity challenges before the Patent Office, and prosecution of U.S. and foreign patent applications. Gerard’s practice focuses on cybersecurity technologies, radio-frequency identification (RFID) and real-time locating systems (RTLS), internet of things (IoT), and financial services technologies (FinTech), but his experience encompasses the fields of electrical, electronic, semiconductor, electro-optical, mechanical, electromechanical, computer and software technologies. Gerard has experience litigating patents before district courts, the International Trade Commission, and the Patent Office. Gerard also has experience developing patent validity and infringement opinions and licensing agreements.
