Ed has over three decades of experience defending clients in antitrust, consumer protection, and other commercial litigation, and before the FTC, DOJ, and state attorneys general in merger and other antitrust investigations, both civil and criminal. He is recognized for his aggressive and successful pursuit of clients’ interests, and for his advocacy skills both in and out of the courtroom, including through trial.
With respect to mergers, Ed’s innovative and thoughtful approach to navigating the sometimes challenging antitrust merger clearance process has earned him the recognition of both his clients and by fellow members of the antitrust bar with his award by the National Law Journal as a ‘Trailblazer in Antitrust’ for his work on mergers & acquisitions.
Ed also regularly counsels clients to help them minimize the potential antitrust risks arising from their pricing, distribution, licensing, non-competes, and other practices, as well as in connection with joint ventures and other collaborations with competitors. He has broad experience across a range of regulated and unregulated industries, with deep experience in aerospace and aviation, pharma and med devices, waste management services, energy and utilities, mining, commodities and derivatives trading, and other industries. He is also a member of the firm’s Retail & Consumer Goods group, focusing on the consumer goods sector. His clients appreciate his ability to understand their businesses and business objectives, and to help them meet those objectives without incurring undue antitrust risk.
