Daniel H. Ahn is an accomplished trial and appellate lawyer and former supervisory federal prosecutor who represents clients in sensitive internal and regulatory investigations, complex commercial litigation, and high-stakes trials and appeals. Federal judges and industry publications have described Daniel as a “white-collar crimes expert,” a “great litigator,” and “just outstanding.” One judge told a jury in a complex white-collar trial that “Mr. Ahn [and co-counsel] are some of the best prosecutors in the U.S. Attorney’s Office. They handle the tough cases. They know how to present information to juries persuasively. They’re good.”

Before joining Reed Smith, Daniel spent a decade at the United States Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California, where he served as an Assistant United States Attorney in Los Angeles and Orange County, as Deputy Chief and Acting Chief of the Orange County office, and as Senior Litigation Counsel for the Criminal Division. As Deputy Chief, Daniel supervised, mentored, and trained new federal prosecutors as to investigations and trial techniques. As Acting Chief, Daniel led an office of 40 federal prosecutors and professional staff, serving one of the most populous counties in the nation.
